Just like the success of his previous team-up with Erich Gonzales, Ejay Falcon is hoping that his onscreen partnership with newcomer Queenie Padilla will also generate the same kind of support. The Ejay-Queenie love team is to be launched via the teleserye, Momay.
Ejay described his new leading lady as someone who is easy to get along with. “Tahimik lang talaga. Kung kakausapin mo siya magiging makulit din bandang huli. Siguro ngayon nagkakailangan pa kami kasi bago lang pero alam ko magiging close kami,” said the former Pinoy Big Brother Teen Big Winner.
He also related that during the first days of their acting workshops, Robin Padilla’s daughter noticed that Ejay was acting distant so she approached him in an effort to get rid of the awkwardness. “Sinabi niya (Queenie) nung workshop namin, ‘kinakabahan ka ba dahil tatay ko si Robin?’” Ejay answered yes, and added that Robin is his idol so he has so much respect for him. Queenie then assured Ejay that he has nothing to worry about because her dad is a kind man.
Ejay also shared that when he appeared on Wowowee and Robin was the guest co-host then, the action superstar gave him tips on how an actor should treat his leading lady right, although indirectly. “Ang sagot naman niya kailangan alagaan mo, respetuhin mo ang ka-love team mo. Sa akin naman ganun naman dapat eh, alagaan mo, suportahan mo ang ka-love-team mo. Hindi lang naman sa akin, [mensahe] niya ito sa lahat ng leading men.”
At a recent interview, Ejay gave a message of assurance to Robin that he will take good care of Queenie. “Huwag po kayong mag-alala kasi hindi ko pababayan ang anak n’yo. Hindi ko siya paiiyakin, hindi ko siya papahirapan. Gagawin ko po ‘yun bilang isang leading man, tulad din niya na sobrang nakikita sa kanya ang sobrang gentleman niya sa lahat ng leading lady niya. Siguro ganun din ako.”
Ejay is confident that he will have a healthy working relationship with Queen and is hopeful that they will become good friends. The young actor said that he is certain that Queenie has the potential to go a long way in showbiz because he sees in her the passion and the love for her chosen career. “Willing siyang matuto. Gusto talaga niya matuto gaya sa pagta-Tagalog, gusto niyang ma-improve ang acting niya. Gusto niya talaga.”
