After his Kapamilya acting debut via a guest appearance in May Bukas Pa, Ejay Falcon is up for another role as Erich Gonzales’ leading man in Your Song Presents Katorse. The upcoming weekly drama series was presented at the ABS-CBN Trade Launch last April 30 where the Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus Big Winner shared with ABS-CBN.com his excitement about his biggest acting break so far. “Nagulat ako nung unang sinabi sa akin na may role ako dito sa Katorse. Kinakabahan pa nga ako kasi baka hindi pa sigurado, anytime pwede pa silang magpalit ng cast. Nag-pray talaga ako kaya masayang masaya ako na sa akin ibinigay ‘yung role. Thank you talaga. Nung first taping day ko lang talaga na-realize na ito na, para sa akin talaga ‘to.”Your Song Presents Katorse will features the love triangle of Erich, Ejay, and model-actor Xian Lim. Ejay will play a young man who will have to live with the harsh consequences of his immaturity. “Sa una may pagka bad boy ako pero magiging mabait ako in the end. Si Xian ‘yung good boy talaga, ako ‘yung playboy. Abangan nila kung ano ang mangyayari sa istorya,” he described. Ejay said that he was able to gain new friends in Erich and Xian as they began taping for the new mini-series. “Lumabas kami nina Erich at Xian para magkakilala kami, para pagdating sa set komportable na kami sa isa’t isa. Ngayon okay na kami, friends na kaming tatlo. Mabait si Erich. Siyempre mas sanay na siya sa acting, ako baguhan pa lang kaya tinuturuan niya ako.”
Katorse was originally an ‘80s coming of age movie directed by Joey Gosiengfiao which starred Dina Bonnevie and Gabby Concepcion. In the Your Song version, Ejay and Erich will play teenage lovers who will learn the harsh consequence of their aggressiveness. Ejay told ABS-CBN.com that he was very nervous when he did his kissing scene with Erich. But he also clarified that this Your Song chapter will not be as sexy as many would expect it would be. “Hindi naman talaga sexy. May mga eksena lang na naka-sando ako tsaka si Xian. Si Erich naman naka-kamison na tumatakbo sa tabing dagat. Hanggang dun lang.”
ABS-CBN.com then asked the 19-year old if he is ready to do a love scene with Erich should the story call for it. “Kung paano na lang siguro ituro ni direk ‘yung eksena. Hindi ko pa naman alam kung paano namin gagawin ‘yung eksena. ‘Yung mga direktor naman ang nakakaalam kung paano gagawin ng maganda ‘yung eksena kaya kahit anong sabihin nila gagawin ko.”
Prior to the first day of shoot though, the three lead actors underwent a sensuality workshop under the supervision of Gina Alajar to help them prepare for their characters. “Nag-sensuality workshop kaming tatlo nina Xian at Erich. Dun kami nagsimulang maging close. Nagpapasalamat kami kay Ms. Gina Alajar na tumulong sa amin sa workshop kasi mas naging kumportable kami sa isa’t isa. Kapag nasa set na kami nina Erich at Xian hindi na nagkakahiyaan,” shared Ejay.
